Instructions for safe operation
This device can be used by children from the age of 8 and peo-
ple with restricted physical, sensory or intellectual abilities or a
lack of experience or knowledge if they are supervised or have
been instructed in how to use this device safely and if they have
understood the resulting dangers.
Children must not play with the device.
Cleaning and user maintenance must not be carried out by chil-
dren without supervision.
The device is operated with three type LR3 AAA 1.5 V batteries.
Be sure to observe the correct polarity when inserting the batter-
ies. Replace only with the same or an equivalent type.
Only use batteries of the same brand and type and do not use
new and used batteries together.
Always replace all the batteries at the same time.
DANGER OF EXPLOSION! Batteries must not be charged or
reactivated by other means, nor must they be dismantled, thrown
into a fire or short-circuited.
The connection terminals in the battery compartment must not be
short-circuited.
Remove the batteries from the device if you do not intend to use
the device for a longer period of time, or if the battery runs out of
power. The batteries may leak and damage the device.
Do not subject batteries to extreme conditions, e.g. do not place
the scale on radiators or expose it to direct sunlight. Otherwise,
there is an increased danger of batteries leaking.
If battery acid has leaked, avoid contact with the skin, eyes and
mucous membranes. In case of contact with the acid, rinse the af-
fected area at once with plenty of clean water and seek medical
assistance immediately.
Batteries can be life-threatening if swallowed. Therefore you
should store batteries out of the reach of young children. If a bat-
tery has been swallowed, medical assistance must be sought im-
mediately.
New and used batteries must be kept away from children.
Batteries must be properly disposed of after use.
