16 Repairing
► Remove the handle (2).
► Pull the barrier bar (3) down and pull the
deformed or damaged overload ring (4)
upward.
► Refrain from using the deformed or damaged
overload ring and screw and dispose of them.

► Insert the overload ring (5) with the narrow
side facing down.
► Allow the barrier bar to spring back.
► Insert the handle.
► Screw in and securely tighten the screw (6).
► If you are unsure: Contact a STIHL authorized
dealer.

The AP webbing sling adapter 2-in-1 or the bat‐
tery cannot be repaired by the user.
► If the overload ring is deformed or damaged:
Do not use the webbing sling adapter 2-in-1
and replace the overload ring.
► If the connecting cable, the webbing sling or
the protective sheath is faulty or damaged:
Have the connecting cable, the webbing sling
or the protective sheath replaced by a STIHL
authorized dealer.

► If the battery pouch or the AP adapter is faulty
or damaged: Have the battery pouch or the AP
adapter replaced by a STIHL authorized
dealer.
► If the battery is defective or damaged: Replace
the battery.
Cause
State of charge of the
battery is too low.
The battery is too
warm or too cold.
STIHL tree care
chainsaw fault.
The STIHL tree care
chainsaw is too hot.
There is an error in
the battery.

Remedy
► Charge the battery as described in the
User Manual for STIHL AL 101, 301,
301-4, 500 and 501 chargers.
► Remove the battery.
► Allow the battery to cool down or warm
up.
► Remove the battery.
► Clean the electrical contacts in the bat‐
tery pouch.
► Insert the battery.
► Switch on the STIHL tree care chainsaw.
► If 3 LEDs continue to flash red: Contact
your STIHL authorized dealer for assis‐
tance.
► Remove the battery.
► Allow the STIHL tree care chainsaw to
cool down.
► Remove the battery and reinsert it.
► Switch on the STIHL tree care chainsaw.
► If 4 LEDs continue to flash red and short
beeps sound in quick succession: Do not
use the battery and contact your STIHL
authorized dealer for assistance.
