Polavision® and VarioPola shields have been specially developed for skiing and have a
polarisation filter deviating from the EN 174 standard. Extensive practical testing – mainly in
professional racing – has confirmed that this deviation ensures ideal contrast enhance- ment
and makes surface structures more visible. A few shields are equipped with a high-quality
reflective coating ("LTM/ Litemirror Silver") on the outside. This high-quality shield coating
is sensitive to scratches and therefore requires particular care during cleaning and storage.
Scratches in the reflective coating are excluded from the warranty.
2. Use, Maintenance and Transport
Before each use and after every fall, the visor should be checked for any damages to the
visor, visor attachment or nose guard and replaced if necessary. Visors must be replaced if
the intended use can no longer be guaranteed because they are dirty or worn. After use, the
visor helmet should be dried at room temperature and stored in dry and dark conditions in
a container meant for it, such as a box or bag. Extreme temperatures, such as over 50 °C,
should be avoided.
3. Cleaning and Disinfection
Clean the visor with a lot of water and without additives. Do not treat with solvents or house-
hold cleaners. To clean, use lint-free cloths. Only shake the water off the visor; if necessary,
dab with a cloth and let air dry. The inside of the visor has an anti-fog coating. This is sensi-
tive to scratches. For this reason, please treat it with care and never wipe it off.
4. Attaching/Removing the Visor
You can obtain the matching replacement visor for this helmet at your specialist retailer. You
can find the type designation of your visor printed on the visor (Fig. 1). When removing all
visor types (Fig. 12), bring them into the closed, lower position.
4.3 Types A and B
4.1.1. Disassembly with Type A Visor Helmets (Fig. A, Page 3)
Undo the screws (Fig. 14) by turning them anticlockwise. Remove the centring ring / washer
(Fig. 13) and then the visor.
4.1.2. Assembly with Type A Visor Helmets (Fig. A, Page 3)
Place the new visor (Fig. 12) in the lower position. Put on the centring ring with pins or the
washer (Fig. 13). Tighten the visor and ring by turning the screw (Fig. 14) clockwise. For Type
B visor helmets (Fig. B, Page 3), it is important to make sure that an additional base plate
(Fig. 15) is positioned between the helmet shell and the visor (Fig. 12).
4.4 Type C
4.2.1. Disassembly with Type C Visor Helmets (Fig. C, Page 4)
Turn the visor bayonet connection (Fig. 16) on the right side of the helmet 180 degrees clock-
wise (and anticlockwise on the left side). The visor bayonet connection will then be open and
can be pulled out of the base plate completely. Once the visor bayonet connection has been
removed, the visor can be easily pulled out of its guide and from the base plate.
4.2.2. Assembly with Type C Visor Helmets (Fig. C, Page 4)
Insert the new visor into the visor guide in closed – i.e. lower – position. To fasten the visor,
insert the visor bayonet connection (Fig. 16) into the base plate in the correct orientation
and press it in so that it can be turned – 180 degrees anticlockwise on the right side of the
helmet until the visor bayonet connection clicks into place (turn the visor bayonet connection
clockwise on the left side).
4.5 Type D
NOTE: The disassembly spanner (Fig. 17) is only provided with replacement visors.
4.3.1. Disassembly with Type D Visor Helmets (Fig. D, Page 4)
In the first step, remove the cover for the visor mechanism (Fig. 18) using the disassembly
spanner (Fig. 17). In the second step, insert the disassembly spanner into the openings
provided in the visor frame and use a small amount of pressure to press into the mechanism
– as soon as you have applied the slight pressure, you will be able to easily remove the visor
in the visor frame from the helmet.
4.3.2. Assembly with Type D Visor Helmets (Fig. D, Page 4)
The spanner is not needed for assembly. Carefully place the visor frame onto the visor hold-
er, making sure that the visor is in closed – i.e. the lowest – position so that the mechanism
can be pressed into the visor holder on the helmet using a small amount of pressure until it
snaps into place. Then the cover for the visor mechanism (Fig. 18) can be put back in place.
