Safety Notes
With this battery powered spreader for single hand use you can quickly and conveniently spread all dry,
free flowing materials such as seed, fertiliser, sand, salt, or other material. Please familiarize yourself
with the proper usage of the device by reading and following each chapter of this manual, in the order
presented. Keep these operating instructions for further reference.

This device is not a toy and does not belong into the hands of children.
Keep persons and animals out of the scatter area. Always observe the safety instructions of the manu-
facturer of the product used in the spreader.

Batteries do not belong in household garbage. For battery disposal, please check
with your local council.
Operation
INSERTING THE BATTERIES
The spreader is powered by 4 1.5 V batteries LR6 (AA). The battery compart-
ment is located on the bottom of the unit. Turn the lock of the battery com-
partment to the side and take the battery carrier out. Insert the batteries into
the battery carrier as shown in the picture. Now insert the battery carrier into
the battery compartment and lock it in place with the lock.
FILLING AND SETTING FLOW AND SCATTER AREA
The spreader can scatter seeds, fertiliser, sand, salt and other dry, free flowing
material. At the bottom of the container is a slider which opens when the safety
switch (|1) is pulled back. With the turn knob (|2) the amount dispersed by the
rotating spreader within a given time can be regulated. With the speed regu-
lator the speed with which the disperser spins can be regulated. The faster the disperser spins, the lar-
ger is the scattered area.
Depending on the product dispersed with the spreader different settings may be practical.
Before use, please check if the set flow and speed is suitable for the current application.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Empty the container after each use and start the machine up briefly to remove material still in the sprea-
ding mechanism. Do not immerse the unit in liquids of any kind. Use a moist cloth to wipe the unit. Ag-
gressive chemicals may damage the material. If you do not intend to use the unit for some time, remove
the batteries. Do not disassemble the unit; it does not contain components serviceable by you. In the
case of problems with the spreader please turn to the Batavia customer support department.
