DMX512 connection
The DMX inputs are fully isolated. All outputs are isolated transmitters with a bias network for RDM operation. Each
output port is individually optically isolated, meaning that it is totally isolated from the other output ports and from
the input section. For connection, use special DMX cables for high data flow.
1
Feed the DMX control signals from your DMX consoles to signal inputs A and B. The XLR inputs on the front
and rear panel are connected in parallel. To avoid malfunctions, use exclusively either the inputs on the front,
or the inputs on the rear panel.
2
Each of the unit's DMX outputs 1 to 4 allows connection of one DMX chain, which in turn may consist of a
maximum of 32 DMX devices. At the last fixture in the DMX chain, the DMX line has to be terminated by a
resistor (120 Ω).
Connection to the power supply
1
Connect the mains cable provided to the POWER IN jack and to a grounded mains socket. Thus the device is
powered on.
2
Connect the supply line of your DMX fixtures to the POWER OUT jack. This jack is wired in parallel with the
power input and accepts a maximum load of 16 A.
Viewing the connection status
1) Use the input port buttons (5) and (7) to display the status of the respective input.
2) Turn the encoder, to view information about the incoming DMX values.
Assigning input signals to outputs
1) The output port buttons (9) provide quick access to the configuration of the 8 output ports.
2) Press the output port button repeatedly to change the input source.
The output's LED indicator will light up green if it is assigned to the A (AMBER) input.
The output's LED indicator will light up blue if it is assigned to the B (BLUE) input.
The output's LED indicator will light up purple if it is in merge mode.
3) Press the encoder to confirm the selection.
