6. Functional check

After switching on the generator, the limit indicator light flashes for 1 to 2 seconds. The
background lighting of the display then slowly illuminates and the following information is briefly
displayed: the generator type, the firmware version, and in some cases other relevant
information. During normal operation the generator displays the currently measured voltage and
current and the operational mode.
Once the generator is working normally, the limit indicator only illuminates if there is a problem
with the high voltage, namely if the set voltage or current cannot be supplied to the output.
Possible causes of overload are:
- Fouling of the charging bar/electrode.
- Direct contact between conductive material and the emitters.
- The charging bar has been fitted too close to conductive (machine) parts.
