3. The high temperature switch is activated: Check for level and functionality of level switch. For
reset unplug device, wait a short while and plug in again.
Attention: the high limit switch can only be reset, if the temperature has fallen below approx. 40 °C.
LED is lit permanently – possible causes and countermeasures:
1. There has been an overheating on the heating element; the thermal switch has been triggered.
This may have several reasons:
- The heating element and the sensor are covered in dirt/sludge, so the heat emanating from the
heating element cannot be dissipated fast enough. => Clean the device. / Service
- The air stones are clogged, and due to the minimal movement in the basin heat will accumu-
late. In such cases, the box tends to malfunction during the weekend. => Replace air stones.
- The Liquid shows considerably increased viscosity, caused e.g. by a high proportion of oil or
surfactants. => Replace all or part of the Liquid.
- The sensor clamp is in contact with the multifunction sensor, which increases heat transfer
onto the sensor. => Place the sensor clamp at a distance of at least 10 mm from the sen-
sor.
2. The plug of the multifunction sensor is positioned improperly, or cables have come off the plug.
=> Push the plug into place; if cables have come off , replace the box.
3. There is a malfunction in the control unit, due to current peaks that are transmitted through the
local power grid. => In this case it may help if you connect the BIO-CIRCLE to an alterna-
tive circuit in the power grid.
4. There is an internal error in the control box or the multifunction sensor.
=> Check the control box or control unit and multifunction sensor, replace if necessary.
Attention: A reset is only possible after cooling down!
Solution does not clean well anymore
The bioremediation process may have been reduced or prevented by the introduction of inadequate
substances or an unfavourable environment. Depending on the situation, replacing all or part of the
cleaning solution to re-start the system may be required. For a re-start take approx. 40 l out of the
tank and replace by new BIO-CIRCLE Liquid. After approx. 5 days the liquid gains its original ability
to break down oil and fat impurities. A restart with part of the used liquid will only be possible, if the
microorganisms are not "poisoned" (for example by solvents, disinfectants or alkaline cleaner). In
case of doubt better change the complete liquid.
Solution Odour
It is normal that the solution may emit a apple odour at start-up. As oil and grease are introduced
into the cleaning solution, this odour will diminish leaving only a faint, pleasant scent.
