8. Troubleshooting
How do I find my fit?
Finding the right fit is incredibly important because it will help you express
more milk in less time and will result in a more comfortable experience. The
"right" flange size can vary depending on lots of factors like your breast tissue,
skin elasticity, nipple shape, nipple damage and personal preference, but as a
general rule, experts agree you should add 3 to 4 mm to your nipple diameter,
not including your areola, to determine size. Our Nipple Size Guide takes the
guesswork out of it so use that to determine size.
The sizes in the pack don't fit, what now?
We offer a 28mm horn / flange free of charge. Scan the code on top of your
pack or contact Tommee Tippee to order your size.
How can I make it more comfortable in my bra?
We'd always recommend having your breasts measured
when you have a baby. You'll be amazed how different
your new breasts can be. The pump should fit comfortably
in a sturdy nursing bra but will be less secure in a low cut
or non-nursing style. The pump should compress your
breast tissue enough to generate a seal but should be
comfortable. If it isn't, we include bra adjusters in the
pack ( C) which can be clipped onto your nursing bra
and have the effect of extending your cup.
What settings should I use?
The ConstantComfort
technology in this pump is different to every other
TM
pump you've tried. Because of that we recommend spending some time finding
the setting that works best for you. Choose between massage and expression
mode and expression intensity. Start on level 1 and increase every 30-40
seconds until you find a setting that matches comfort with output. If you feel it
getting too intense, drop back down. Remember every day and every session is
different so don't be afraid to change your setting to suit your needs.

What is ConstantComfort
?
TM
ConstantComfort is the name we give to our patent-pending technology that
more accurately mimics a breast feeding baby. It combines a low level of
constant vacuum around the nipple with small waves of pressure to draw out
milk. This is the equivalent of baby latching on with their mouth (vacuum) and
using their tongue to draw milk from the nipple (pressure waves). Not only does
this mean a gentler pressure profile compared to other pumps in the market that
use a "sawtooth" pattern, it also means the pump is held more securely in place
so there's less risk of the pump slipping and the nipple mis-aligning. Given that
this is a hands-free wearable, that's a massive benefit as it allows you to go about
your day without having to constantly re-adjust.
Why is the amount the app tells me I've pumped different from how much is in the
collector bottle?
The pump uses a sensor to estimate the amount of milk in the collector bottle.
This can be affected by a number of things like milk consistency (foremilk vs.
hindmilk), movement, angle of use and sensor interference. Ensure the small
black sensor is free of debris and sit/stand upright and stationary at the end of
your session for best results.
How do I convert the collector bottle into a feeding bottle?
Simply remove the diaphragm and lid assembly from the top of the collector
bottle, assemble the nipple / teat and screw ring and screw in place.
How do I store milk in the collector bottle?
Your pack comes with spare parts so the entire collector bottle assembly can be
stored in the fridge or freezer until you are ready to feed with it.
Why won't my pump pair to the app?
The pump uses Bluetooth to pair to your phone. Download the Tommee Tippee
app, register an account and log in. Turn on the pump and then press and hold
the power button until the LED light flashes blue. You will see a pop-up appear in
the Tommee Tippee app and can then add the pump. Please note you will need
to do this for each pump if you have bought a pair.
What if I'm not getting enough milk?
There are lots of reasons why your milk production fluctuates over time but if
you know you're getting less than "normal" there are a few things to try.
• Check the alignment of your nipple in the pump – it's important that the centre
