6.3 Switching & Connecting an External Lighting Controller
& Adjusting Light Intensity (Dimming)
If there is no controller connected to the driver, the LED fixture will switch ON at 100% power when mains
power to the driver is switched on.
The fixture can be switched ON/OFF lighting if there´s a controller connected to the Dimming IN port on the
driver.
The LED fixture's light intensity can be adjusted without changing spectrum or losing efficiency. This means
that PPF can be adjusted to the correct level for growth cycle.
The LED driver can be connected to a 0-10V a Lumatek Control Panel Plus/universal lighting controller (all sold
separately) for switching and dimming control.
If connecting the Lumatek Control Panel to the driver, please use the link controller cable supplied in the
controller box. Ensure connectors are correctly aligned and then push together until click-locked. To release:
turn twist-lock anti-clockwise and pull apart.
For daisy chain control more LED drivers, first use the link cable supplied in the Lumatek Control Panel box to
connect from one of the channels of the controller to the DIM IN port of the first VF650W driver of the chain.
Use the LED Daisy Chain Control Cable (sold separately) to complete the connection between the first
VF650W Driver by connecting from the DIM OUT port to the DIM IN port of the next VF650W Driver. Repeat the
process of connecting LED Daisy Chain Control Cable (sold separately) if you need to connect more VF650W
LED Drivers to the chain.
Note: there´s a limit to daisy chain VF650W LED Drivers establish by the Lumatek Control Panel. The recom-
mendations are 50 units of VF650W LED Drivers connected to each channel of the controller. The Lumatek
Control Panel has two channels, so the limit is 100 units of LED VF650W LED Drivers (50 LED650W LED Drivers per
channel).
Light intensity (PPF level) can be adjusted between 20% - 100% light output.
