• Hold the ladder firmly when climbing up
or down. If possible, hold the ladder with
one hand only while carrying out the task,
otherwise take other safety measures.
• Avoid any task that exerts a lateral load on the
ladder, such as drilling into hard materials from
the side.

• Do not carry heavy or hard-to-handle materials
when using the ladder.
• Do not wear inappropriate footwear when
using the ladder.
• Do not use the ladder if your state of health
does not allow it. Certain medical conditions
or medications, alcohol abuse or drug use may
represent a danger when using the ladder.

• Don't stand on a ladder for too long without taking regular
breaks (fatigue is a risk).
• Prevent damage to the ladder during transport, for example
by tying it down, and ensure that it is correctly positioned to
prevent damage.
• Make sure the ladder is suitable for the task.
• Do not use a ladder that has been soiled, for example by
fresh paint, mud, oil or snow.
• Do not use the ladder outdoors in unfavourable weather
conditions, such as strong winds.
• Before using a ladder for professional purposes, a risk
analysis must be carried out in accordance with the legislation
of the country of use.
• When installing the ladder, take into consideration the risk
of collision, for example with pedestrians, vehicles or doors.
Secure doors (but not emergency exits) and windows on the
site, wherever this is possible.
• Do not modify the ladder design.
• Do not move a ladder when a person is standing on it.
• When used outdoors, beware of the wind.
