fiercontainsmuchmorehigh-frequencyinformationthananundistortedsignal,andtherefore
putsaheavystrainonthehigh-frequencydriver�Consequently,speakersaremostoftendamaged
bysmallamplifiersforcedtoworktoohard-andveryrarelybylargeamplifiers,whicharepracti-
callyrunningidle�
Itisworthnotingthatwhenthetonecontrolsareturnedabovetheneutralsettingthisplacesa
substantialburdenonbothspeakersandamplifier�Inagoodsoundsystem,tonecontrolsshould
onlybeusedtocompensateforpoorrecordingsandnottopermanentlycompensateforweak-
nesseselsewhereinthesystem�Therefore,DALIrecommendsthatthetonecontrolsgenerally
besettotheneutralpositionandthatyouachieveyourdesiredsoundimagethroughcorrect
positioningofthespeakers�
Ensuringthatyoukeepthevolumelowenoughtokeepthesoundclearandundistortedwill
minimizethestrainonbothspeakersandamplifier�
