1. GENERAL SAFETY WARNINGS
FOR ELECTRIC TOOLS
WARN ING!
WARNING! Please read all safety
precautions, instructions, illustra-
tions, and technical specifications
provided with this electric tool.
Failure to follow all instructions
listed below may result in electric
shock, fire, and/or serious bodily in-
jury.
Please keep all warnings and instructions
for future reference.
The term "electric tool" or "electric ma-
chine" used in these warnings refers to
your mains-operated (corded) electric
tool or battery-operated (cordless) elec-
tric tool.
Workplace Safety
– Keep the work area clean and well-lit.
Clutter and insufficient lighting can
lead to accidents.
– Do not use the electric tool in an ex-
plosive atmosphere, such as near flam-
mable liquids, gases, or dust. Electric
tools produce sparks that can ignite
dust or vapors.
– Do not allow children or unauthorized
persons near the work area of the elec-
tric machine. Distractions can result in
a loss of control over the electric tool.
Electrical Safety
– The plug of the electric tool must
match the outlet. Do not modify the
plug in any way. Do not use any adapt-
er plugs with grounded electric tools.
Using unmodified plugs that match the
outlet reduces the risk of electric shock.
– When working with electric tools, do
not touch grounded surfaces such as
4
pipes, radiators, electric stoves, and
refrigerators. There is an increased risk
of electric shock if your body is ground-
ed.
– Do not expose electric tools to rain or
moisture. The risk of electric shock in-
creases when water enters the electric
tool.
– Do not mishandle the power cord. Nev-
er use the power cord to carry, pull, or
disconnect the electric tool. Do not al-
low the power cord to come into con-
tact with heat sources, oil, grease,
sharp edges, or moving objects. Dam-
age or twisting of the power cord in-
creases the risk of electric shock.
– When using an electric tool outdoors,
use an extension cord suitable for out-
door use. Using an outdoor-rated ex-
tension cord reduces the risk of elec-
tric shock.
– If working in a damp environment, use
a power supply with a ground fault cir-
cuit interrupter (GFCI). Using a GFCI re-
duces the risk of electric shock.
Personal Safety
– Be alert, watch your actions, and use
common sense when working with
electric tools. Do not use electric tools
if you are tired or under the influence
of drugs, alcohol, or medication. Even
the slightest carelessness when work-
ing with electric tools can result in se-
rious injury.
– Use personal protective equipment.
Always wear protective goggles. Us-
ing appropriate protective equipment
such as respirators, non-slip footwear,
helmets, or hearing protection reduces
the likelihood of injury.
– Take
precautions
tal starting. Before connecting to the
power source, when lifting the pow-
er tool, or when carrying it, the switch
must be in the off position. Do not keep
your finger on the switch while carry-
ing the power tool, and do not connect
it to the power source with the switch
turned on.
– Remove any adjusting keys before
turning on the power tool. A key left
