2.2 SETTING ThE VOLumE
The unit is started with last used volume setting. The volume can not be set until the
unit has connected.
To adjust the volume move the adjustment button up or down. The volume is changed
one step for each press. The sound level is indicated with beeps through the ear
phone, at the lowest and highest level a double beep is indicated.
2.3 SETTING ThE GROuP NumbER
The unit is started with the last used group number. To change the group number
move the adjustment button up or down before the unit has connected. The group
number is changed one step for each press. There are 16 group numbers available,
each intended for different fire fighter teams.
The unit can be configured with two alternatives:
1. The group number can not be change during use, but can only be changed by
switching off and then restarting the unit. The Mode button works as on and off
button only.
2. The group number can be changed during use. when the unit has connected
press the Mode button. The current group number is indicated through the ear
phone. To change group number move the adjustment button up or down. After 3
seconds the unit switches back to volume mode.
2.4 LONG DISTANCE RADIO ACTIVATION (PuSh TO TALk)
To activate the long distance radio transmission lift and hold the PTT button.
To disable the long distance radio transmission release the PTT button.
when the long distance radio transmission is activated the LED indicator is lit red and
a beep sound is indicated through the ear phone.
Only one person at the time can access the long distance radio.
2.5 muTE FuNCTION
To mute the microphone of the SpiroCom unit push down the adjustment button until
the red LED indicator is flashing.
The Voice Projection Unit (VPU) is disabled and no speech from the unit is transmitted
to other SpiroCom units. Speech from other connected SpiroCom units will still be
transmitted through the ear phone.
To switch off mute push the volume adjustment button up, the previous sound level is
set when the button is released.
when the PTT button is pressed the mute function is automatically switched off. when
the PTT button is released the mute function is activated again.
2.6 LOw bATTERY INDICATION
At the low battery warning level the LED indicator starts to flash red. At this level there
is approximately 2 hour of use time remaining.
