A large easy to use button activates the long distance radio communication and
toggles between Team talk and Voice Projection unit. It is placed to be easy to find
and possible to activate also with shoulder or against a wall.
DispLay [Fig 2, F]
The external display shows the selected group number when the unit is switched on.
LED inDiCatOr [Fig 2, B]
A red LED visible for the wearer is lit when the PTT is pressed and the long distance radio
communication is active.
The indicator is flashing to indicate two hours remaining battery time or activated mute
function.
aDjustMEnt ButtOn [Fig 2, E]
This button is used to change volume and group number.
MODE ButtOn [Fig 2, D]
This button is used as on/off switch and to access group change mode (if configured).

2.1 STARTING ThE uNIT

Press and release the Mode button, the group number is indicated through the ear
speaker and starts to flash in the display.
When the units has connected to the available network of SpiroCom units, "connected"
is indicated through the ear speaker and the group number stops to flash in the display.
Until then no transmission is made.
Depending on the current radio environment the start up time can differ at different
occasions.
If the device does not start or if the display indicates "LO" replace batteries, see section 5.
nOtE! UP TO 3 UNITS CAN BE STARTED SIMULTANEOUSLy wITH THE SAME GROUP NUMBER. TO START MORE THAN 3
UNITS SIMULTANEOUSLy MAkE SURE TO ALwAyS FOLLOw THIS PROCEDURE:
1. START 1-3 UNITS AND wAIT UNTIL THEy INDICATE THAT THEy ARE CONNECTED TO THE CORRECT GROUP.
2. START THE NExT UNIT AND wAIT UNTIL IT INDICATES THAT IT IS CONNECTED TO THE CORRECT GROUP.
3. CONTINUE TO START ADDITIONAL UNITS ONE By ONE UNTIL THE DESIRED NUMBER OF UNITS ARE CONNECTED TO
THE CORRECT GROUP.
IF THIS PROCEDURE NOT IS FOLLOwED, THERE IS A RISk THAT NOT ALL UNITS ARE CORRECTLy CONNECTED.
nOtE! ANy PERSONS STANDING OUTSIDE THE BUILDING MUST HAVE THE UNIT SwITCHED OFF UNTIL THEy
ENTER THE BUILDING AND jOIN THE TEAM ON THE INSIDE. UNITS ACTIVATED ON THE OUTSIDE wILL AT SOME
POINT LOOSE LINk TO THE UNITS CARRIED By THE TEAM INSIDE THE BUILDING. wHEN THIS HAPPENS IT MIGHT
CAUSE A TEMPORARy LOSS OF COMMUNICATION FOR ALL TEAM MEMBERS.
The unit starts by default in the mode for Team talk only.
By quickly lifting and releasing the PTT button the unit toggles between the following
modes:
• Team talk only, no Voice Projection Unit
• Voice Projection Unit only, no Team talk
