8. FIRST START-UP
Protection against dry run
At each start-up, the controller checks for the presence of water in the system. This
procedure lasts for the first 30 seconds. If water flow is detected within 30 seconds,
the controller starts its normal operation. If water flow is not detected within 30 sec-

ready for operation, no water intake.
Flashing illumination of pressure indicators between zero and the set pressure: man-
ually activated interruption in the pump operation.
The uppermost illuminated indicator on the dial indicates the current system pressure.
Installation before first start-up:
1. Install a non-return valve upstream of the controller.
2. Install half-unions of appropriate size supplied with the inverter on the pipeline.
The kit includes two 1"-diameter, 62 mm long half-unions; one 1"-diameter, 110
mm long half-union; one 1¼" and one 1½" diameter half-union, each 62 mm long.
The half-unions selected shall be connected to the pipeline with PTFE tape. When
assembling, keep in mind that the nuts of the half-unions shall be fitted with the
included rubber gaskets.
