Never mix synthetic oil and mineral oil. In case the oil
type should be changed, it is necessary to clean the
gear very carefully.
Pay attention to leaky oil seals, and replace if neces-
sary.
The gear motor must be cleaned as needed to avoid
overheating.
The best way to clean the inside of the rotary valve is
with compressed air. If damp and/or sticky material has
got into the rotary valve, additional cleaning may be
necessary.
Paddles
The rotary valve is equipped with replaceable paddles,
that run very close to the rotary valve housing and will
wear and tear over time. The lifespan of the plates will,
among other things depend on the type of material

being transported through the rotary valve. When the
paddles wear out, air will leak past the rotor. This leak-
age will make it more difficult for the material to pass
efficiently through the rotary valve, thereby reducing
capacity. When capacity has become too low, the pad-
dles must be replaced.
Always disconnect power to the rotary valve before
repair and maintenance. The main switch must be
disconnected and locked so that the rotary valve
cannot be started by mistake. Also stop the associ-
ated blower. When replacing paddles, bearings, etc.,
use only original Kongskilde spare parts, as shown in
the spare parts list.
The paddles can be replaced without the use of special
tools. However, it is recommended to use a straight
edge and a thickness gauge for mounting the paddles
on the rotor (see item 4).
