TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
WARNING
This unit must be serviced by qualified personnel only.
Service by unqualified personnel may lead to electric
shock or burn.
Symptom
Toast too light.
Toast too dark.
Unit toasts on one side only.
Toaster trips the circuit breaker or
GFCI.
Troubleshooting Questions?
If you continue to have problems resolving an issue, please contact the nearest Authorized Hatco Service Agency or Hatco for
assistance. To locate the nearest Service Agency, log onto the Hatco website at www.hatcocorp.com, select the Support pull-

SERVICE INFORMATION
The warranty on this Hatco unit is for one year from date of
purchase or eighteen months from date of shipping from Hatco,
whichever occurs first.
If you experience a problem with this unit during the warranty
period, please do the following:
Contact Local Hatco Dealer
When contacting the Hatco dealer for service assistance,
please supply the dealer with the following information to
ensure prompt processing:
• Model of unit
• Serial number (located on the unit)
• Specific problem with the unit
• Date of purchase
• Name of business
• Shipping address
• Contact name and phone number
Probable Cause
COLOR CONTROL knob set on a light setting.
Unit not warmed up. The toaster needs time to
heat up when initially turned on.
Supply voltage to unit is low.
COLOR CONTROL knob set on a dark setting.
Supply voltage to unit is high.
Selector switch is in the BUN position (one-sided
toasting).
Heating element defective.
Circuit breaker is not sized properly for the
toaster.
Wiring fault inside toaster.
ELECTRIC SHOCK HAZARD: Turn OFF power switch,
unplug power cord, and allow unit to cool before
performing any cleaning, adjustments, maintenance, or
attempting to clear a jam.
Turn COLOR CONTROL knob to a darker setting.
Allow approximately 15 to 20 minutes for the unit to
warm up.
Verify the supply voltage to the toaster matches the
unit specifications.
Turn COLOR CONTROL knob to a lighter setting.
Verify the supply voltage to the toaster matches the
unit specifications.
Place the selector switch in the BREAD position
(two-sided toasting).
If the element does not glow, contact Authorized
Service Agent or Hatco for assistance.
Check circuit breaker for proper sizing.
Contact Authorized Service Agent or Hatco for
assistance.
The Hatco dealer will do the following:
• Provide replacement part(s) as required
• Submit warranty claim to Hatco for processing
Non-Warranty Problems
If you experience a non-warranty problem that requires
assistance, please contact the nearest Authorized Hatco
Service Agency.
