7. When new batteries are inserted, the battery display requires a few charging cycles before it can
give you accurate information about the charge status.
8. Several charging/discharging cycles are required before new batteries reach their full capacity.
9. You can place your handset back in the charging station at any time. The charging process is
controlled electronically so that the batteries are charged carefully and in the optimum way
whatever the charging state. Avoid removing the batteries from the handset for no particular
reason as this affects the optimum charging process.
The capacity of the batteries used can be improved by allowing the batteries in the handset to
discharge completely after a longer period of use, and then fully recharging them.
10. Do not short-circuit the batteries (hazardous). In particular avoid accidental short-circuits during
storage and transportation caused by key rings, metal plates or similar objects, and make sure
the batteries do not come into contact with greasy substances. Always store the batteries in
insulated packaging when they are not in use inside the handset. Also make sure the contacts
do not come into contact with greasy components.
11. All used batteries are subject to a statutory return obligation; they must not be disposed of in
domestic waste. Always dispose of the batteries in accordance with official requirements. Take
them to be recycled. The batteries are recycled as they can contain nickel - cadmium (Ni - Cd),
lead (Pb), cadmium (Cd) or mercury (Hg).
The batteries are marked with symbols and their constituent substances,
e.g.:
