Precautions and preventive measures
Sapphire crystal
Sapphire crystal is a colourless, synthetic sapphire.
Thanks to its hardness rating of 9, this crystal can only
be scratched by very hard diamond-like substances.

UNION GLASHÜTTE/SA. watches use only sap-
phire crystal which have undergone a double-sided
anti-reflective treatment, whereby both sides of the
crystal receive an anti-reflective coating. Because there
are no reflections on the crystal, the full splendour of
the dial can be seen to best effect.
Watch straps
®
For its watch straps, UNION GLASHÜTTE/SA. uses
either stainless steel, titanium, calf leather, crocodile-
print calf leather, or rubber. Some ladies' watches
have a synthetic satin strap, which is significantly more
durable than a natural satin strap
Clasps
The straps are equipped with a decorated 316L stain-
less-steel double-fold deployant clasp or a double-
fold titanium deployant clasp with two push-buttons.
Watches with gold cases have a pin buckle that is made
from 18-carat pink gold.
