Precautions and preventive measures
A further consideration is that water resistance can-
not be guaranteed for an indefinite length of time.
Ageing of the seals or accidental shocks to the crown
or a push-button may adversely affect the water resist-
ance. To keep the watch water resistant, we recom-
mend that you do not use the push-buttons under
water. After contact with salt water, you should clean
your watch with a damp cloth. Do not open the
watch under any circumstances. In addition, we rec-
ommend that you have the water resistance of your
watch checked once a year by an approved UNION
®
GLASHÜTTE/SA. Service Centre.
Case
®
UNION GLASHÜTTE/SA. uses stainless steel, stain-
less steel with PVD coating, titanium or gold for
the watch case. This stainless steel 316L alloy is char-
acterised by its excellent anti-corrosion properties.
PVD coating is the most advanced method of coat-
ing stainless steel in the modern world. It is distin-
guished by a particularly high resistance to corrosion.
Grade 2 titanium has a low specific weight, but has a
higher tensile strength than common types of steel.

The gold case from UNION GLASHÜTTE/SA. is
made solely from gold alloys with a gold purity level
of 750 (18 kt).
