Changing batteries
Each Collision Sentry Multi-Zone unit
operates on 6 standard D-Cell batteries that
are easily replaceable.
Open Battery Door on front of the unit.
Remove old batteries.
Insert new batteries in the same orientation
as the originals.
Close battery door.
The unit is now ready to use.

Single-Zone mode
Sometimes you just need to know what's
ahead of you. There are areas in facilities
where large objects are part of the structure,
and you need to know when you are
approaching or passing by. In this case, the
Multi-Zone can be adjusted to Single-Zone
mode where each unit operates
independently of the other. In Single-Zone
mode, the unit generates an alert any time a
single sensor device detects motion.
To engage Single-Zone use
Open the battery box on the back of the first
unit to access the switch box. Flip DIP switch
#4 to the ON position. The unit will then go
through an initial warm-up period. Once the
warm-up period is complete, the status LED
on the right will begin to blink yellow once
per second. This indicates the unit is in
Single Zone mode.
Note that when you change one unit to
Single-Zone mode, its pair will go into
Failsafe Alert. This is because the device in
Single-Zone mode stops communicating with
its pair. To stop the Failsafe Alert, you will
need to change the second unit to single
zone mode as well. That means again
accessing the switch box and flipping DIP
switch #4 to the ON position. The units now
operate independently of each other and can
be placed where needed.
Change back to Multi-Zone
To re-enable the Multi-Zone feature, simply
change switch #4 in both units to the OFF
position. The units will go through the normal
start-up sequence.
Troubleshooting in Single-Zone mode
Why is only one of the devices warning for
motion at a time? I expected both devices to
warn for motion at the same time.
Devices are likely set to Single-Zone mode. In
Single-Zone mode the sensors and warning
LEDs on separate devices are expected to
operate independently. You can confirm that
the devices are in Single-Zone mode by
observing the status LED blinking yellow
once per second in between warnings. Or
check inside the device to confirm that DIP
switch #4 is set to ON. To operate devices as
a pair that alert at the same time only when
both sensors detect motion, they must both
be set to Multi-Zone mode. Set DIP switch #4
to OFF on both devices to put them in
Multi-Zone mode.

Collision Sentry Multi-Zone limitations
The Collision Sentry Multi-Zone is a motion
sensor device that works when both sensors
detect movement at the same time. Any
factor that limits the sensors' ability to see or
detect a change in infrared light, limits or
prevents the product from working properly.
Collision Sentry Multi-Zone features two units
that communicate with each other wirelessly
via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) radio. Any
factor that limits the ability of the units to
communicate will limit or prevent the product
from working properly.
Collision Sentry Multi-Zone is designed for
INDOOR USE only.
Collision Sentry Multi-Zone is a collision
warning system designed to supplement
safety procedures already in place. Its use
does not replace or eliminate the need for
forklift operators and pedestrians to use
extreme caution when maneuvering through
the facility.
Proper training is vitally important when
deploying Collision Sentry Multi-Zone. A
thorough understanding of how the product
works, what the signals indicate, the features
and limitations is needed to maximize the
product's e ectiveness.
We highly recommend testing the Collision
Sentry Multi-Zone on-site to determine the
fitness of the product for use in your facility.
