Cleaning Materials for Kitchen Faucets
Acids are indispensable as a component of cleaners for removing limescale deposits.
When caring for fittings, however, it is important to note that
- only cleaning agents are expressly intended for this type of application.
- no cleaners are used which contain hydrochloric acid, formic acid, acetic acid or sulfur, as
these can cause considerable damage.
- cleaners containing phosphoric acid cannot be used without restrictions.
- cleaners containing chlorine bleach must not be used.
- cleaning with steam cleaners or fire (flames) is not permitted.
- when selecting cleaning agents and disinfectants, it should be noted that they are also suitable
for plastics (e.g. ABS - acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene, PC - polycarbonates, POM -
polyoxymethylene).
- the use of abrasive cleaning aids and equipment, such as scouring agents, pad sponges and
microfiber cloths is excluded.
- only a clean, soft cotton cloth or chamois free of foreign particles is used.
Mixing different cleaning agents is not permitted!
Cleaning of Kitchen Faucets
It is essential to follow the instructions for use provided by the cleaning agent manufacturers.
Generally note that
- cleaning must be carried out as required.
- the cleaning agent dosage and exposure time must be adapted to the specific requirements of
the device and must never be left to act for longer than necessary.
- the build-up of limescale must be prevented by regular cleaning.
- existing lime scale can be removed by direct application of the product.
- cleaning material should never be sprayed of flushed directly on the faucets, but onto the
cleaning textile (cloth/sponge) to prevent the cleaning materials from penetrating into openings
and gaps in the faucets and cause damage.
- after cleaning, rinse sufficiently with clear water to completely remove any remaining product
adhesion.
IMPORTANT:
Personal care product residues such as soaps, shampoos and shower gels can also cause
damages. It is highly recommended to rinse the faucet with clean water after usage.
In the case of already damaged surfaces, exposure to the cleaning agents will cause the damage
to progress.
