Keep the charging stand plugged in continuously and store the
appliance in the charging stand. This ensures that the appliance is
always ready for use.

Store the mains cord by winding it round the reel in the bottom of
the charging stand.
Environment

Do not throw away the appliance with the normal household waste at
the end of its life, but hand it in at an official collection point for
recycling. By doing this, you help to preserve the environment (Fig. 14).

The built-in rechargeable batteries contain substances that may pollute
the environment. Always remove the batteries before you discard and
hand in the appliance at an official collection point. Dispose of the
batteries at an official collection point for batteries. If you have trouble
removing the batteries, you can also take the appliance to a Philips
service centre. The staff of this centre will remove the batteries for you
and will dispose of them in an environmentally safe way (Fig. 15).
Removing the rechargeable batteries
Only remove the rechargeable batteries when you discard the appliance.
The appliance does not work anymore after you have cut the wires that
connect the rechargeable batteries to the motor unit.
Only remove the rechargeable batteries when they are completely empty
to avoid a hazard. Never let the batteries come into contact with metal.

Remove the blender bar or chopper coupling unit from the motor
unit.

Let the appliance run until it stops.

Press the unlock button and fix it in this position with adhesive tape.
The charging light starts to flash red. When the charging light goes
,
out, the rechargeable batteries should be completely empty.

Try to switch on the appliance again to check if the rechargeable
batteries are really empty. If the motor starts, repeat the procedure.

Insert a screwdriver into one of the four slots of the aluminium top
cover. Then twist the screwdriver to remove the top cover (Fig. 16).

Undo the two screws (Fig. 17).

Pull the top part of the motor unit with the rechargeable batteries
attached to it out of the housing (Fig. 18).

Put the top part with the rechargeable batteries attached to it in a
bowl with one litre of water and 1 teaspoon of salt and leave it in this
bowl for 24 hours.

Take the top part with the rechargeable batteries attached to it from
the bowl and cut the wires that connect the batteries to the motor
unit. (Fig. 19)

Bend the battery cover to detach it from the top part (Fig. 20).

You can dispose of the complete battery cover with the 2
rechargeable batteries in it at an official collection point for batteries
(see above). You can also remove the battery cover to separate the
two rechargeable batteries and then dispose of them.

To remove the battery cover, bend the tab that holds the two
rechargeable batteries in place outwards and pull the batteries out of
the battery cover (Fig. 21).
