place "dry" (no glue) - Fig. 10. Mark the position of the split
pin 1.6 and drill the hole exactly central - Fig. 11.
-
Push the split pin into the hole, splay the ends inside the
hull and secure it with plenty of ST-E - Fig. 12.
-
File away the bottom edge of the stem core to clear the
split pin.

-
Fit the stern tube and gearbox mounting 2.1 in the motor
bulkhead 2.2 and glue the parts together - Figs. 15 and 16.
-
The suppressors can now be fitted to the motor: file the sur-
face of the motor can clean and bright, and solder one pin
of each capacitor 2.5 to the can. Fit insulating sleeves 2.5
on the other pins and thread them through the motor termi-
nals.
-
Fit insulating sleeves on both pins of the capacitor 2.6 and
fit it between the motor terminals as a bridge.
-
The next step is to solder the power leads 2.7 to the motor
terminals: red wire to the terminal marked with a red dot.
-
Cut the twin-core cable 2.7 to length and solder it to the
motor terminals; the capacitors are soldered to the termi-
nals at the same time - Fig. 17.
-
Attach the AMP plug 2.8 to the motor cables. Push the insu-
lator over the pins, ensuring that the red wire is located
under the lug of the housing.
-
Fix the motor assembly to the bulkhead using the screws
2.9 - Figs. 18, 21.
-
Fit the locknut 2.10 on the propeller shaft 2.11 and run it to

Assembly instructions
Valdivia
-
Position the stem core accurately and glue it in place -
Figs. 11 / 13.
-
Trim the in-fill wedges 1.7 to fit and glue them between
the hull and the step in the stem core, so that they form a
support surface flush with the joint flange of the hull - Fig.
14.

the end of the threads. Slide the shaft into the bush from
the rear.
-
Fit the gear 2.12 on the front end of the shaft, set the axial
clearance to 0.5 mm and fit the grubscrews 2.13 to secure
it.
-
Fit the pinion 2.14 on the motor shaft and secure it with the
grubscrew 2.15 - Fig. 19.
-
Remove the locknut 2.10 and fit the motor assembly in the
hull. Fit the nut 2.10 again, followed by the propeller 2.16.
-
The stern tube can now be glued to the hole in the hull
using plenty of ST-E, taking care to form a watertight fillet.
Ensure that the propeller is located correctly in the hull
recess as shown in Fig. 20. Tack the motor bulkhead in the
hull in this position using SP T2.
-
Apply a narrow fillet of ST-E round the motor bulkhead 2.2
to fix it permanently to the hull - Fig. 21.
-
Remove the propeller shaft again. Apply grease to the insi-
de of the stern tube and slide the shaft into it again. Fit the
gearbox cover 2.17. The propeller should not be fitted per-
manently until the boat has been painted.
