Disassembling existing transmitter for compact version
1. Isolate the device from power.
2. Remove the existing transmitter from the terminal box.
3. Remove all cables and the existing connection board from the terminal box.
4. Unmount the terminal box from the sensor pedestal.
Notice
Only use cable glands provided by Siemens for this device
The usage of other cable glands can damage the device. For restrictions
regarding certification refer to the Operating Instructions.
Installing the FMT020 conversion kit for compact design
1. Place the new terminal box on the pedestal. Make sure that the gasket is prop-
erly installed between the terminal box and the sensor pedestal.
2. Mount the new terminal box on the sensor pedestal by cross tightening.
3. Connect the grounding cable on the connection board 6. If the sensor cables
are too short, put the connection board inside the terminal box before pro-
ceeding.
4. Mount the connection board inside the terminal box.
5. Plug the SENSORPROM on the connection board. Ensure that the serial num-
ber on the SENSORPROM label is identical to the sensor serial number.
6. Fit M20 or ½" NPT cable glands for supply and output cables. For NPT cable
glands use the M20 to NPT adapter.
7. Connect the 3-pin connector to terminals 82, 0, 83 on the connection board.

8. Connect the 2-pin connector to terminals 85 and 86 on the connection board.

9. Mount the transmitter by cross tightening as indicated. To avoid damage to
the device do not tighten fully at first.
10. To obtain optimum sealing, tighten cable glands.
Note
Flowmeter performance
To ensure the accuracy specification it may be necessary to make appropriate
adjustments. For guidance and examples to achieve the optimum product
performance, please refer to the SITRANS FMT020 Operating Instructions or
consult Siemens Support for further details.
