Creasing in the fabric

Important
For textile sun protection: creases occur during manufacture and when folding the awning fabrics. At the same
time surface effects can occur in the crease, particularly in the case of light colours which appear darker against
light. Folds in the hem, seam and fabric lengths occur where there are multiple layers of the woven fabric and
different rolling thicknesses on the fabric roller. The resulting fabric tension can cause waviness (e.g. honey-
comb or fish bone patterns). In principle, these effects occur to varying degrees in almost all awning fabrics.
Creases and folds reduce do not reduce the value and usability of an awning. Awnings and conservatory aw-
nings are sun protection devices which should be retracted when it is raining or windy.

Cause
- No power supply
- Drive is too hot and has been
shut down by the thermo protector
- Drive not properly set
- Projection profile not straight,
diagonals uneven Note: A projection
profile ≤ 5 mm that is not fully closing
on one side is within the product's
tolerance standard.
- Construction not correctly aligned
- Heavy dead weight
- Fabric structure
- Loads that occur on brackets and
substructures
- The bunching up of the awning is
the result of it being connected to
the roller tube and transverse seams.
Technically unavoidable markings
across the fabric are the result of
winding it up.
- Visible creases due to the materi-
al around the edges with zipped
fabrics: the fabric and zip lie on top
of each other when being wound up
and have to cover different distan-
ces. Stronger effect due to weather
influences.
- Creasing in the awning fabric due to the
projection profile bowing under load in
the middle (with awning width > 4000
mm).
Remedy
• Connect to the mains (by a specialist
retailer only)
• Wait approx. 10 to 15 minutes until
the drive has cooled down
• Correct the drive settings (by a speci-
alist retailer only)
• See separate instructions for use for
remote control
• Align the construction (by a specialist
retailer only)

• No troubleshooting necessary, as the-
re is not any functional impairment,
no reduction in the operating life and
no reason for rejection (it only affects
the awning's appearance)!
