Increase the output voltage until the desired value is reached. Then set the output voltage
approx. 10% higher to accommodate process fluctuations.
Keyboard lock
The keyboard on the CM5 can be locked. Simultaneously press the [◄] and [►] keys for about
1 second. The " " symbol appears on the screen. The keyboard is now locked. When the
keyboard is locked it is not possible to change the Setpoint value of the generator. By using the
[ ], [ ], [◄] and [►] keys, the currently set Setpoint values can still be displayed.
Simultaneously press the [◄] and [►] keys again for about 1 second. The " " symbol now
disappears from the screen. The keyboard is unlocked again and can be used to change the
Setpoint settings of the generator.
Limit indicator
The "Limit" indicator on the front panel of the generator indicates that the generator is limited.
This means that the desired (set) high voltage value is not reached.
Rectifying the "Too many arcs error"
When "Too many Arcs ERROR!" appears on the display, more than 10 arcs/minute (arcing of
the high voltage) have been detected. The generator is protected and in this situation the high
voltage switches off.
This error situation can be rectified by pressing the [ESC] key on the keyboard. If the generator
is operating in the external remote on/off mode, the error can also be rectified by switching the
high voltage off and then on again via the external switching signal.
Enabling the menu
When the CM5 is used as a simple charging generator, the menu on the CM5 is disabled.
Access to this menu, which provides greater functionality and more setting options, must first be
enabled. Please refer to the section 6.3 on "Enabling the locked menu" in the full manual.
