Auto monitor
This function allows the recording monitor to be automatically
switched to SOURCE in recording standby mode, and to TAPE
when recording starts or during playback.

To switch the monitor manually, press the MONITOR selector.

e AUTO RESET mode (HOLD indicator is off):
The peak value is held for 1.2 seconds, and then the next peak
value is indicated. If a higher level is output within the 1.2
second span, the display will change immediately to that peak
value.
¢ PEAK HOLD mode (HOLD indicator is on):
The peak value is retained until a higher level is output. To
erase this peak value, press the button again. This is a useful
function when you want to know the maximum level through
the entire recording.

Tape monitor
The sound recorded by the recording head can be output by
playing back with the playback head at the same time
(simultaneous monitor). This is a useful function for checking the
optimum recording level, since the signals being recorded on the
tape can be monitored at the same time with playback.
