1 Press the cassette door OPEN/CLOSE button
(4).
Insert a tape and press the button (A) again to close the cassette
door.
2 Select the DOLBY NR type with the DOLBY
NR selector.

3 Press the recording button (@).
The mode changes to recording standby {Pause).
and Pause (EW indicators light up. The recording monitor
changes to source mode, and indicator lights.

Do not use C-120 tapes
Do not use.C-120 tapes; they are thin and tend to be caught by
the pinch roller or capstan and are also subject to improper
winding.
Do not use a tape in which the erasure protection tabs have been
removed.

DOLBY NR selector
4 Adjust the recording level with the REC
LEVEL control knob.
Output the recording source sound from the amplifier, and adjust
the level indicated by the level meter.
To balance the left (L) channel and right (R) channel:
The volume level of L and R channels might not be balanced
perfectly depending on recording source or playback equipment.
In such a case, adjust the balance with the REC BALANCE knob.
Turning the knob clockwise decreases the level of the L channel.
Turning the knob counterclockwise decreases the level of the R
channel.
5 Press the Pause (I) button.
m@ Recording starts.
The recording monitor changes to tape mode, and
indicator lights.
§ To stop recording temporarily, press the Pause (§) button.
Recording will resume when the Pause button is pressed
again.
Stopping recording
Press the Stop (fH) button.
NOTES (CT-959 only}
The REC BALANCE knob does not function if the LINE
STRAIGHT button is ON. Make sure that this button is OFF
when balancing the recording level. (See page 13.)
