Installation and Use
WARNING!
RTFA MUST NEVER be
used in Leading Edge (LE) applications.
ALWAYS avoid lifeline contact with sharp
or abrasive edges and surfaces, both
during use and in event of a fall.
Never work outside of a 45° cone beneath
the device (22.5° either side of vertical), if
a fall were to occur the device would lock
and the user would swing like a pendulum
and may sustain injury from this hazard.
Ensure that the hook of the RTFA is secure
in the harness D-ring and the gate of the
hook is locked. The line between the user
and the RTFA must be taught at all times.
Never run or jump whilst attached to the
unit, walking at a steady pace will ensure
that the device does not sense a fall.
Ensure the lifeline is free to extend and
retract from the device, and that the
brake engages with a sharp jerk, before
use.
For Dual Kits, assemble and use RTFA
according to instruction sheet provided
with Dual RTFA Bracket.
If using dual RTFA, ensure 100% tie-off
at all times; ALWAYS attach disengaged
hook to a compatible anchor point prior to
unhooking engaged hook.
If using RTFA with scaffold hook, RTFA
housing must always be attached at
harness D-ring. Scaffold hook must ONLY
be connected to structural rebar, or other
structural anchor (such as angle iron or
concrete form) deemed compatible with
RTFA by CP.

WARNING!
Never install ATOM-X
foot level. Never work above the level of
the foot level anchorage working surface.
Step 1
All components of the personal fall arrest
system must be selected and deemed
compatible with RTFA by a CP.
Step 2
Ensure area where work is to be performed is
free of all hazards, including, but not limited to,
debris, rot, rust, sharp or abrasive edges and
surfaces, and hazardous materials.
Step 3
Anchor point must be located above harness
D-ring at a sufficient height to prevent freefall
(excluding ATOM-X
RTFA may be used either with the housing
attached to the anchor point or to the harness
dorsal D-ring.
Standard Overhead Use
Step 4a
To use RTFA with housing at anchor point,
attach to anchor point with provided karabiner,
or equivalent EN362:2004 compliant
connector, and attach lifeline connector to
applicable harness D-ring.
Inverted Use
Step 4b
To use RTFA with housing at harness, attach
the swivelling connector point to the dorsal
D-ring via the provided karabiner, dual RTFA
bracket or equivalent EN362:2004 compliant
connector, then attach lifeline connector to
suitable anchorage point.
ATOM-X
Anchor point may be located
between head and foot level,
below

although it is recommended the
anchorage be located above
harness D-ring.
