7.5.5 Setting the cutting edge

- After the distance between the cutting edge and the cutting blade has been set to 0.5 to 1.0
mm, the four hexagon screw connections 1 on the front of the cutting edge carrier 2 must be
secured with tools by turning to the right (Fig. 50 a) and the distance must be checked again
using the feeler gauge!
Install knife and remove knife protection
(see chapter "Changing the knife" of the
cutting line).
Spin the knife 1 by hand and check the
distance between the cutting edge 2 and/or
the form shell and the knife blade using a
feeler gauge 3 (Fig. 50).
The distance must be 0.5 to 1.0 mm over the
entire area.
Place the knife protection on the knife (see
chapter "Changing the knife" of the cutting
line).
To set the distance between the cutting edge
and the knife blade, the four hexagonal
screw connections 1 on the front of the
cutting edge carrier 2 must be loosened with
a tool by turning to the left by one turn (Fig.
50 a).
Set up the distance between the cutting edge
and knife blade by turning the four
adjustment screws 1 (Fig. 50 b).
Turning to the right causes a reduction of the
distance to the knife.
Turning to the left causes an increase of the
distance to the knife.
