Using the default outgoing message

If you have not recorded an outgoing message, the answering machine automatically plays the de-
fault outgoing message. The default message can have a male or female voice. To select between a
male and female voice, press the REC/x button twice in short succession.
Wording of the default outgoing message: Bitte hinterlassen Sie Ihre Nachricht nach dem Ton."

Recording an outgoing message

1. Press and hold the x/REC button. An acoustic signal is issued.
2. The message ANSAGE AUFNEHMEN appears in the display.
The outgoing message must be at least 3 seconds long and not longer than 60 seconds.
The length of the outgoing message is deducted from the maximum recording time. When
your outgoing message is 18 seconds, for example, then 49 minutes and 42 seconds remain
for incoming messages.
3. Speak your outgoing message into the microphone.
Keep a distance of about 15 cm from it.
4. To end recording, simply release the REC/x button.
5. The outgoing message is automatically played back and the message ANSAGE ABSPIELEN
appears in the display. The volume can be adjusted by pressing the two arrow keys y and
z.
You can play back your outgoing message at any time by pressing the REC/x button briefly.

Deleting your own outgoing message and reverting to the standard message

1. Press the REC/x button.
2. Press the – button while the outgoing message is being played back.
Your outgoing message is deleted. The next time a call is received, the answering machine plays the
default outgoing message.
