8 Configuring and operating the product in the app

8.1 Installing the app

Open the respective app store on your smartphone. If you are using

Android
, open "Google Play". If you are using an Apple device, open
TM
"App Store" from Apple.
Search for the "Smart Life - Smart Living" app (house icon with blue

background) or the "Tuya Smart" app (white letter t with red back-
ground) and install it.
You can also scan the respective QR code below or tap on the name.

You will be redirected to the page of the appropriate store. Use the
Android
or Apple iOS device to scan the QR code.

Smart Life - Smart Living
The description below refers to the "Smart Life - Smart Living" app. The configuration and

operation are almost identical to the "Tuya Smart" app.
8.2 Launching the app for the first time
Open the previously installed "Smart Life - Smart Living" app.

If you have not created a free account yet, please sign up and follow the instructions.

Log in to the app using your account.

If you are using several devices, we recommended that you create a profile for your home

first. You can then create several profiles (e.g. for each room). The corresponding settings
page in the app can be accessed with the button in the lower right corner.
8.3 Teaching the product
For configuration, your smartphone and Wi-Fi switch should be connected to the same

Wi-Fi network.
Important:
Please note that only 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks are supported.
Before connecting the Wi-Fi switch to the app, ensure the connection mode is enabled.

To put it into connection mode, use the touch button (A) to switch it on when the power

supply is enabled. The blue status LED (B) lights up, and when a load is connected to the
output, the connection mode is activated.
Then press and hold the touch button (A) for about 5 to 10 seconds until the relay switches

off and on again. Simultaneously, the blue status LED (B) goes off, and the green status
LED (B) lights up for about a second. After that, only the blue status LED (B) lights up
again.
Then, after about 1 to 2 seconds, the green status LED (B) starts flashing quickly (about

two times per second). The connection mode is now active.
The connection mode turns off automatically after approx. 2 to 3 minutes.
The green status LED (B) flashing quickly indicates that the connection mode is enabled.
The green status LED (B) flashing slowly indicates that the alternative mode is enabled.
Pressing and holding the touch button (A) again takes you back to the connection mode.
Press and hold the button to change the mode.
When the Wi-Fi switch is in connection mode (green status LED (B) flashing rapidly) and

when the app is active, the app may automatically find the unit and prompt to set it up. It
may also be that the unit only appears on the
display after you have already started adding
it (see screenshot).
In this case, tap the button to add the device

and follow the instructions in the app up to
the point in which you can rename the new
device.

You can add a new device manually by tap-

ping "+" on the top right of the app's main
page and selecting the device you want to
add. Otherwise, tap the blue button below in
the middle.
You can add the Wi-Fi switch in the app by

selecting the uppermost item in the left co-
lumn (see the black rectangle at the bottom
left of the screenshot).
Then select the "Switch (BLE+Wi-Fi)" item in

the first segment (see the black rectangle at
the bottom right of the screenshot).
Tapping this rectangle takes you to the next
configuration page.
If the green status LED (B) still flashes

quickly, tap the blue button below in the app.
Important:
The search for the device via setup (after
confirmation in the next screenshot) should
begin shortly after the device has been
put into connection mode. Otherwise, the
search may not be successful because the
device has exited the connection mode.
If the green status LED (B) still flashes

quickly, tap the right button to confirm again.
Select your Wi-Fi network first (tap the double arrow on the right) and then enter the Wi-Fi

password if your Wi-Fi network has not been automatically adopted in the next view.
Tap the blue button to save your selection and continue.

The app will search for the new device and complete the setup. This can take several

minutes.
When setup is complete, the display should

look like the right-hand screenshot. If
anything went wrong, repeat the process.
Tap the pencil icon to assign an individual

name to the new device.
If you have previously created a profile with
rooms, you can assign the device to a room.
Tap the desired room under the name of the
device so that it is highlighted with a dark
background.
Finally, tap the blue lettering at the bottom to

complete the setup.
