Assembly instructions
1.
Fit the camera pylon 1 in the camera spoiler 2, and glue the parts together. Note: the long edge of the
camera pylon should be at the rear.
2.
Cut the mirror bar 4 to length from the carbon fibre rod supplied, and glue the two front mirror sections 3
to it. Glue the mirrors to the front mirror sections.
3.
Cut the bottom transverse arm reinforcement 7 to the stated length and glue it to the bodywork floor 6
using UHU por. NOTE: position the reinforcement according to the pre-cut slots (left picture).
4.
Cut the upper transverse arm reinforcements 8 and the transverse arm connecting pieces 9 to the stated
dimensions. Bevel one end of the transverse arm reinforcements as shown. Lay parts 8 on the bodywork
floor 10, parallel to the edges of the transverse arms, and glue the connecting pieces 9 on top of the
transverse arm reinforcements. Sand the projecting corners back flush. The transverse arm
reinforcements can now be glued permanently to the bodywork floor.
5.
Cut the front spoiler reinforcement 12 to the stated length and glue it to the front edge of the spoiler 11.
6.
Carefully sand the front edge of parts 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18 and 19 to a 45° bevel.
7.
Fit the motor mount reinforcements 21 in the slots in the motor mount 20, and glue the parts together.
8.
At this point you need to decide on a colour scheme, as it has proved advantageous to paint the GM-
RACER 3D before the parts are assembled. Remember that some components are handed (different left
and right). Styrofoam spray paints, available under Order No. 928..., are ideal for painting the model.
9.
When you have finished painting, you can start gluing the parts together, beginning with the nose section
components 22 and 23.
10. The next step is to glue the battery compartment together: stick the battery compartment floor 24 to the
two side panels 25, and glue this assembly to the nose side panels as shown.
11. Insert the assembled nose section in the appropriate slots in the bodywork floor 6 and glue the parts
together.
12. Glue the front and rear pushrod guides 26 and 27 to the bodywork floor.
13. The vertical fins 28 can now be glued to the bodywork floor.
14. Glue the centre tyre sections 29 to the bodywork floor.
15. Glue the motor mount base plate 30 to the bodywork sub-floor 10. Fit the sub-floor in the vertical fins and
engage the tabs in the slots. The sub-floor can now be glued to the slots in the fins.
16. Gently warm up the two bodywork side panels 31 using a heat-gun, and curve them carefully as shown.
Caution: don't heat the material to more than 100° C . Glue the side panels in place, working from the
rear towards the front.
17. Cut the carbon sub-floor reinforcement 32 to length and glue it in place. The bodywork sub-floor and the
vertical fins can now be glued together.
18. Glue the motor mount to the motor mount base plate using thick cyano.
19. Cut away the top bodywork section 33 at the front to clear the motor mount, and at the rear to clear the
vertical fins.
20. The top bodywork section 33 can now be glued to the bodywork sub-floor. The top bodywork section is
designed to project slightly at the edges, as this makes it easier to glue it in place. Use gentle pressure to
bring the edges of the top section and the sub-floor into the same plane, then glue them together using
styrofoam cyano.
21. The wheel "rims" 34 can now be glued to the rear wheels.
