2. Open the battery compartment by folding out
the lid (11).
3. Insert the 3 batteries of the type LR03 (AAA)
into the compartment and observe correct
polarity. Make sure the spring contact touches
the –pole of the battery.
4. Replace the batteries immediately if the
battery low indicator (9) starts flashing after
switching on the unit.

Using

For transport the unit and while storing it, make sure the plumb and
cross line laser is locked in the outer shell. The unit must be in the
lowest position. This position is the transport position.
1. To release the transport protection, pull out the height
adjustment detent (8) and lightly lift up the plumb and cross line
laser. By doing this, the pendulum is released and can move
freely.
2. Press the ON/OFF switch (2). The unit always starts with cross
line operation. With the levelling pendulum (5) the unit can
automatically compensate uneven surfaces within the self-
levelling range of approx. 5°. The self-levelling is complete as
soon as the laser lines do not move any more.
3. If automatic levelling is not possible, e. g. the surface on which
the unit is standing deviates for more than 5° from the horizon-
tal, the white out of level indicator (3) will start flashing and the
laser lines will disappear. In such a case, reposition the plumb
and cross line laser to horizontal and wait for the self-levelling to
complete. As soon as the unit stand horizontally, the laser lines
will appear again.
4. If necessary you can pull out the plumb and cross line laser
further more by releasing the detent and locking in place again.
