Instructions for Safety Use
and Maintenance
1. GENERAL INFORMATION
This instruction for safety, use and maintenance manual is an integral and essential part of the
product and is supplied together with the oven. It is suggested to read carefully this manual and
observe any stated indication in order to use the equipment correctly. Please take care of this manual
for any further consultation.

This manual wants to be an instruction and maintenance guide for Portable Ovens for Electrodes
WELDRY PW8 and PW15 which are designed for WELDLINE - LINCOLN ELECTRIC Europe S.L. - c/o Balmes,
89 - 8o 2a - 08008 Barcelona - SPAIN.
• It must be used and read by the operators, maintenance employees and by the staff and
purchaser for what it concerns spare parts.
• It must be located with care in a known place, protected by dirty and humidity and it must be
always available for consultation by the operators.
• Read it and give to read carefully to all the operators in all parts before proceeding to install,
to use, or for maintenance or dismantling of the oven and/or equipment.
• Check always that the operator has understood very well how to proceed for use and the
safety symbols fitted on the oven.
• Do not damage or remove the labels or the name-plate fitted on the oven.
• It is possible to prevent accidents if the given instructions are respected.
• Before connecting the oven, be sure that the name-plate data correspond to the electrical
distribution system ones.
• Do not expose the oven to the inclemency of the weather or install in high humidity
environments that are bathrooms, etc.
• In case of emergency, that is fire starting, anomalous noise, overheating, etc. disconnect
immediately the system electrical connection.
When this manual has been completely damaged, it is possible to ask for a copy directly to WELDLINE -

references:
• Type of oven and Model
• Serial Number
• Supplier/Reseller
• Name and address of the User

In case the oven is given to someone else, please inform us of the change in order to communicate
to the new owner the up-to-date information.
This manual respects the state of the art at the moment of sale and it could not be considered
inadequate if it is reviewed due to improvements.
The producer is not obliged to up-to-date the manual and/or the oven of the users if, in the meantime, due
to the evolution of the technology, he has modified and/or improved the equipment and/or the manual.
2. SPECIFICATIONS
2.1. General specifications
The portable ovens are used to keep the electrodes at humidity-free conditions at the welding place
to avoid hydrogen inclusion into the welding. The portable ovens are equipped with a bridge-handle
suitable for transporting it. They are supplied complete with a basket which allows the electrodes to
be taken out.

2.2. Oven general description
The oven has an external structure made of stainless steel (inox) to withstand heavy working
conditions as humidity, corrosion and salty atmosphere.
The internal structure is square and made in galvanized aluminium coated steel sheet.
The internal air chamber between the two structures maintains uniform temperature condition, inside
the oven.
The external thermostat is well protected against accidental impact.
The heating element is fixed at the bottom of the oven directly in touch with the electrodes, assuring
highly efficient thermal conductivity.
2.3. Electrical connections
• The portable ovens are available in single phase 230 V AC - 50/60 Hz.
• On request other voltages can be supplied:
48/85 V DC/AC - 50/60 Hz
or 24 V AC - 50/60 Hz
or 110 V AC - 50/60 Hz
The portable ovens are provided with 1,5 m three-pole + earth electrical cable.

3. ASSEMBLING INSTRUCTIONS
Portable ovens are shipped in a rigid cardboard box with mounted bridge-handle.
Put a socket (not supplied) to the connection cable according to the type of electrical supply
mentioned on the name-plate fitted on the oven. Check the connection is made according to the local
safety standard; moreover an automatic switch must be foreseen according to IEC 60947-2 rule.
The oven is now ready for use.
4. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
After checking the connections supply power to the oven acting on the general switch.
When on, the lamp lights.
Warning: check the oven clousure; for taking out the basket, use always the relevant
handle fitted at the higher side.
4.1. Starting the oven
Set the thermostat on the selected temperature. After approx. 30 minutes, the oven reaches a
temperature of 100°/120°C, then load the electrodes; they must be already treated.
A thermometer, when present, will indicate the inside temperature.
Lift the basket and keep the electrodes out, time by time, when needed.
Lay the basket again in order to close the portable ovens.
5. MAINTENANCE
5.1. Routine Maintenance
Plan the routine maintenance when the oven is not in use.
Warning: before any service switch the main supply off
Check the oven is always in efficient condition.
Check the wiring cable and, if damaged, replace it immediately.
