3.Operation

3.1 DIPswitches

TheDIPswitches arelocatedonthebackside of theunit.
(Seepage16technicaldata)
Theare used to define thedifferent operationmodes and
to enter start address.
3.2 Select 6 channelor 8 channelmode
TheVaryscancanbeopperatedeitherin6 channel or 8
channelmodedependingonthelightingcontrolconsole.
Themainadvantageofthe 8 channelmodeisthatevery
effect isassinged to a seperate channel. Programming
thereforeislesscomplicated.
If your lighting control consoleisonlyabletocontrol6
channelsperunit,youhavetoassigntheVaryscanto
6 channel mode.

3.3 DMX settings

UseDIPswitch 1-9toassign the Varyscantoitsaddressorstartchannel.
TheVaryscanrequireseither 6 or8DMXchannes,depending onthe
actual mode (see chapter 3.2)
Whenusingthe Varyscans in 6 channelmode eachunitrequires 6 DMX channels.
Ifthefirstfixtureinline is addressed to starting channel no. 1 the second
unit hastobeaddressed to channel no. 7.Neveroccupy onechanneltwice!
Thethird Varyscan inline hasto beaddressedtochannelno.13and soon.

Usingthebinarysystemthefigure 7 consistsof the figures1+2+3=7.
DIP switch oneis assignedtofigure 1.DIPswitchtwoisassignedto figure2.DIP
switch three is assignedtofigure no. 4. DIP switch four is assignedtofigure no.8.
DIP switch fiveisassigend tofigure no. 16 andsoon.Switch DIP switch 1,2
and3to"on"toassigntheVaryscantostartchannelno.7.Leavetherestof
the DIP switchesinan"off"position.
