» To tighten the blade reel, loosen front adjustment bolts on both sides equally by
turning them counter-clockwise and tighten rear adjustment bolts on both sides
equally by turning them clockwise. The cutter blade moves closer to the blade reel
(Fig. 3).

» To check the adjustment, turn the lawn mower upside down. Wearing gloves, take a
strip of paper and carefully turn the blade reel so that a blade cuts a small portion
of the paper (Fig. 4). Repeat for all blades. Each blade should slice the paper evenly
across the entire length of the cutter blade while the reel turns smoothly.

» If the product has an intermittent cut, adjustment should be made to the appropriate
side of the blade reel to attain proper cutting action.
