8.3 Removing amda

8.4.1 Unilateral distalization with amda
amda can be used for unilateral distalization. To do this, prepare and

distalized as described. On the other side, mount the amda
on the amda palatal arch in a way that it does not exert any force. To fix

it, tighten up both stop screws.
8.4.2 Mesialization with amda
amda was designed for distalization. However, the appliance can also

be used for bi- or unilateral mesialization (Fig. 8). In addition, amda
can be used for the distalization of one jaw side and mesialization of
the other side.
