5. Operation

5.1

Storage

Important!
Material damage (deformation) of the
tank from excessive heating or mechani-
cal overload.
Do not expose the high-grade plastic tank to di-
rect sunlight for extended periods either during
transport on the vehicle or when in storage.
Suitable storage conditions:
Ambient temperature: 10 °C to 40 °C (cover, e.g.
when storing outdoors)
Floor: level and smooth (without pointed pro-
jections)
5.2

Filling the spray caddy

1. Place the spray caddy in a horizontal position
and remove screw cap a.
2. Fill liquid thawing agent into the spray caddy via
the filler opening.
3. Close the filler opening with screw cap a.
4. Close the ventilation cap in the screw cap.
5. Place the spray caddy in a vertical position.

5.3.2 Working with the spray caddy

Important!
Never point the spray jet at people or
animals.
Important!
The completely filled spray caddy is
heavy

Wear winter clothing and sturdy footwear
with non-slip soles when working.

Note that considerable downhill forces arise on
steep slopes.
For better traction, move on a surface you have
already treated.

When empty, the spray caddy can be loaded by
hand using transport handle g and grip hollow h
on the tank.

During transport, observe the pertinent regulations
for transport and securing loads, in particular:
Road traffic (licensing) act of the country in que-
stion,
Recommendation:
Use a non-slip mat.
Continuous
operation
Open the ventilation cap and switch on the
pump.
Operate the trigger of the spray lance e, and
uniformly spray agent over the area to be
thawed.
Switch off the pump and fill the spray caddy
(see section 5.2).
Close the ventilation cap, switch off the pump
and store the spray caddy.

Loading the spray caddy

Transporting

CEN 12195 Parts 1 to 4 for calculation and
lashing.
Use transport handle g for fastening the tensi-
on belts when fastening to the transport vehicle.
Important!

Form before force!
Try to load the spray caddy mainly by
form fit (e.g. by securing it against the
sides).
Excessive lashing forces can damage the
spray caddy.
