Operating Instructions
Entry detector
Item No. 2522638
1 Intended use
The product consists of a sensor unit and a signalling unit.
A PIR sensor is built into the sensor unit, which responds to temperature changes within the
detection range, e.g., when a person enters the detection range.
Thereupon, the signal unit sends a wireless signal to the signalling unit. This emits an audio
signal (select from 5 different audio tunes and 4 different volume levels); two LEDs also flash.
In this way, for example, a person's entry into the sales room of a business can be signalled.
The sensor and signalling units are operated with batteries. The signalling unit, however, can
also be operated with an external power supply (not included, available separately).
The product is intended for indoor use only. Do not use it outdoors. Contact with moisture must
be avoided under all circumstances.
If you use the product for purposes other than those described, the product may be damaged.
Improper use can result in short circuits, fires or other hazards.
The product complies with the statutory national and European requirements. For safety and
approval purposes, you must not rebuild and/or modify the product.
Read the operating instructions carefully and store them in a safe place. Make this product
available to third parties only together with the operating instructions.

5.1 General information

The device is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.

Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. This may become dangerous

playing material for children.
If you have questions which remain unanswered by these operating instructions, contact

our technical support service or other technical personnel.
Maintenance, modifications and repairs must only be completed by a technician or an au-

thorised repair centre.
5.2 Installation, connection and operation
The sensor unit and the signalling unit are intended for the installation and use in dry indoor

locations only; they must not get damp or wet.
Do not operate the device in environments where there are high levels of dust, flammable

gases, vapours or solvents. There is a danger of fire and explosion!
The product must not be exposed to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, strong vibra-

tions or heavy mechanical stress.
Handle the product with care; it can be damaged by impacts, blows, or accidental falls,

even from a low height.

5.3 Operation
Consult an expert when in doubt about the operation, safety or connection of the appliance.

If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, take it out of operation and protect

it from any accidental use. DO NOT attempt to repair the product yourself. Safe operation
can no longer be guaranteed if the product:
– is visibly damaged,
– is no longer working properly,
– has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
– has been subjected to any serious transport-related stresses.
5.4 High volume can damage hearing
The loudspeaker in the signalling unit is very loud. This can, in some cases, lead to hearing

damage if the device is operated too close to the ear.
5.5 (Rechargeable) batteries
Correct polarity must be observed while inserting the (rechargeable) batteries.

The (rechargeable) batteries should be removed from the device if it is not used for a long

period of time to avoid damage through leaking. Leaking or damaged (rechargeable) bat-
teries might cause acid burns when in contact with skin, therefore use suitable protective
gloves to handle corrupted (rechargeable) batteries.
(Rechargeable) batteries must be kept out of reach of children. Do not leave (rechargeable)

batteries lying around, as there is risk, that children or pets swallow them.
All (rechargeable) batteries should be replaced at the same time. Mixing old and new (re-

chargeable) batteries in the device can lead to (rechargeable) battery leakage and device
damage.
(Rechargeable) batteries must not be dismantled, short-circuited or thrown into fire. Never

recharge nonrechargeable batteries. There is a risk of explosion!
6 Inserting / replacing batteries
6.1 Sensor unit
1. Open the battery compartment on the back by first unscrewing the screw on the battery
compartment cover and then opening the cover.
2. Insert 3 Micro/AAA batteries, with the correct polarity (observe +/Plus and -/Minus).
3. Close the battery compartment again and screw in the screw of the battery compartment
cover.
Note:
The batteries of the sensor unit need to be replaced when the red LED on the front flashes
continuously.
6.2 Signalling unit
1. Open the battery compartment on the back by first unscrewing the screw on the battery
compartment cover and then opening the cover.
2. Insert three batteries of type Baby/C with correct polarity (observe plus/+ and minus/-).
3. Close the battery compartment again and screw in the screw of the battery compartment
cover.
Note:
You need to replace the batteries of the signalling unit, if it stops responding to the sensor
unit, the alarm sound is low or distorted or the alarm LEDs are not flashing.
7 Operating the signalling unit with power supply
Instead of using batteries, the signalling unit can be operated using an external power supply
(not included, available separately). This must be able to supply an output voltage of 5 V/DC
and a current of at least 500 mA.
The power supply must have a round low-voltage plug with an exterior diameter of 3.5 mm and
an interior diameter of 1.3 mm; the outside contact must be the negative terminal (-) and the
inside contact the positive terminal (+).
Important:
Take the batteries out of the signalling unit if you operate it using a power supply.
