SETTING UP WORKPIECE
Setting up with tailstock (5) and
4-prong drive (1)
1.
Mark out the centre of the workpiece
ends with diagonal lines over the ends.
The centre is the point where the lines
cross. Make a centre hole where the
prong drive and tailstock are to be put.
This ensures that the workpiece is
held more firmly in place.
2.
Saw a 2 mm deep cut along the diagonal
lines to give the 4-prong drive (1) a better
grip.
3.
Release the prong drive (1) from the
product and put it against the centre mark
on the workpiece. Carefully tap the prong
drive (1) with a mallet (sold separately)
so that it is pressed into the workpiece.
Protect the back end of the prong drive (1)
with a piece of wood.
4.
Remove the prong drive (1) from the
workpiece.
5.
Replace the prong drive (1) on the
product.
Fitting and removing 4-prong drive
1.
Put the workpiece on the 4-prong drive
(1). Align the 4-prong drive (1) to the mark
in the workpiece.
2.
Release the tailstock locking lever (8).
3.
Bring the tailstock to the prong drive
(1) so that the prongs almost touch the
workpiece.
4.
Lock the tailstock in place by pressing
down the locking lever (8).
5.
Fine-adjust the tailstock with the crank
(6).
6.
Lock the crank in place with the lock nut
