Note 1: Tech Side TS-T9+ is able to display dual frequency. In frequency mode,
the display will show the transmission and reception frequency; while in channel
mode both channels are displayed.
Note 2: In frequency or channel mode, press the A / B key to switch from the
'A' channel / frequency (shown above) to the 'B' channel / frequency (shown
below).
The symbol
next to the channel on the display indicates the channel currently
in use.
Menu functions:
Squelch level (SQL) - Menu N°0
This function allows you to adjust the squelch to 10 predefined levels:
1.
level 0: open squelch, in this way it is possible to receive all signals, even the
weakest, however all background noise will also be received.
2.
level 1- 9: squelch set to gradually increasing levels; level 1 (squelch at mini-
mum level), level 9 (squelch at maximum level).
With the squelch at maximum level only the strongest signals will be received.
Frequency step (STEP) - Menu N°1
With this function you can select the desired frequency step.
The available values are: 2.5 / 5.0 / 6.25 / 10.0 / 12.5 / 25KHz
Note: in channel mode this function cannot be enabled.
Output power (TXP) - Menu N°2
In this menu, select the high or low output power.
Low power = 1W; high power = VHF 8W / UHF 5W
Note: selecting the high output power improves the call quality, while the low
power reduces the battery consumption. In channel mode, you can switch from
high to low power by pressing the rapid key "#" (Menu No. 55).
Battery saving (SAVE) - Menu N°3
The Power Save function allows a reduction in battery consumption when the radio
is in standby mode.
You can choose between 5 options: OFF / 1: 1/1: 2/1: 3/1: 4.
VOX function (VOX) - Menu N°4
This function allows you to activate conversations without pressing any key: simply
speak in the direction of the microphone and communication
will be automatically activated.
You can choose between 11 levels: OFF-10. 1 is the highest level, 10 the lowest.
Note: the higher the set level, the higher the sensitivity of the microphone.
The VOX function cannot be enabled during scanning or in FM radio mode.
Wide / narrow bandwidth (W / N) - Menu N°5
In this menu you can set the operating bandwidth.
WIDE: 25KHz, NARROW: 12.5 KHz
Note: Broadband is usually used.
This function cannot be used in channel mode.
Backlight (ABR) - Menu N°6
This function can be used to adjust the switching off (1-5s) of the display backlight.
Dual Watch (TDR) - Menu No. 7
When this function is activated, you will receive on the frequencies of channels A
and channel B. (not simultaneously) If the radio receives a signal, it will flash in
48
correspondence of the corresponding channel or frequency.
Note: when the Dual Watch function is activated, you can change the parameters
of the A / B channels or frequency.
Further information Menu N°34
Keypad beep (BEEP) - Menu N°8
When this function is active, the radio emits a beep when you press any key.
Time-Out-Timer (TOT) - Menu N°9
This function, when active, prevents the transmission from being prolonged by
temporarily blocking it if used beyond a pre-set maximum time (for example 15s,
30s, 45s, etc).
Reception with DCS codes (R-DCS) - Menu N°10
DCS codes can be added to channels to create your own. By setting the DCS codes
it is possible to ignore unwanted signals from other users transmitting on the same
frequency. Communication is possible
only with users who use the same DCS code.
You can choose between:
OFF: disabled
R-DCS: D023N-D754N DCS Normal
R-DCS: D023I-D754I DCS Inverted
Note: TS-T9+ has 105 groups of normal and inverted DCS codes. This
function cannot be activated and used in channel mode.
Reception with CTCSS tones (R-CTCSS) - Menu N°11
As with DCS codes, CTCSS are also sub-tones that can be added to channels to
create a personal one.
You can choose between:
OFF
CTCSS (67.0 to 254.1 Hz)
Note: the CTCSS tone groups are 50. In channel mode the CTCSS cannot be en-
abled. To search for the sub-tone used by other operators go to Menu N°53
Transmission of the DCS codes - (T-DCS) - Menu N°12
In this menu you can activate a transmission DCS code.
Note: there are 105 groups of DCS codes. DCS codes cannot be enabled in channel
mode.
Transmission with CTCSS tones (T-CTCSS) - Menu N°13
To set a transmission CTCSS tone you can choose between:
OFF (disabled)
CTCSS (67.0 to 254.1 Hz)
Note: the CTCSS tone groups are 50. In channel mode the CTCSS cannot be
enabled.
Voice function (VOICE) - Menu N°14
The VOICE function informs you of every operation or selection you are making.
ANI-ID (ANI-ID) - Menu N°15
