7. Adjusting the positioner

7.1 Adjusting the DSR type positioner
The positioner was calibrated before leaving the
plant. Generally, adjustments are only necessary if a
replacement was done (see Chapter 4), in which case
you proceed as follows:
7.1.1 Automatic adjustment:
– Press both «IN» and «OUT» simultaneously until
the LED blinks (after about 2–3 seconds) and then
let go.
– The valve does several stroke movements (open/
close), the end of which is indicated by the stea-
dy burning of the LED. Confirm the adjustment
by pressing the IN/OUT buttons simultaneously
within 3 seconds. If the LED blinks, there is an
error (see page 31).
7.1.2 Manual adjustment:
(generally not required)
– Press both «IN» and «OUT» simultaneously until
the LED blinks (after about 2–3 seconds) and then
let go.
– The valve does several stroke movements (open/
close), the end of which is indicated by the steady
burning of the LED. If the LED blinks, there is an
error (e.g. not enough supply air pressure).
– With the «IN» button (air is pumped into the ac-
tuator) and «OUT» (actuator is deaerated), the
valve can be moved into the opened or closed
positions. If either of the buttons is not pressed
within 1 minute, the valve will return to its origi-
nal position.
– By alternately pressing «IN» and «OUT», the point
is reached at which the valve just begins to open
(a slit of light appears between the diaphragms).
To confirm, both «IN» and «OUT» are pressed
simultaneously within 3 seconds.(LED blinks and
goes out).
– Calibration is completed.
