Aerosol therapy is indicated for treating inflamma-
tion of the upper respiratory tract such due to colds
and nasal congestion as well as inflammation of the
lower respiratory tract (bronchi and lungs).
The Chicco piston aerosol unit nebulises all types of
medications quickly and effectively and the nebulised
particles are ideal in size which ensures the deep and
targeted deposit of medications, maximising the ef-
fectiveness of the therapy.
The Sidestream phial shortens medication adminis-
tration time by increasing the flow of nebulised parti-
cles, making therapy easier and more convenient for
children.
It is a class IIa medical device which converts medi-
cations from liquid to aerosol form, so they can be
administered directly to the respiratory system.

IMPORTANT WARNINGS

Before using this unit, carefully read the
information included in this manual and
keep it for future reference.
• Aerosol therapy unit always follow the instructions
provided by your doctor regarding the type of medi-
cine to use, dosage, and frequency and duration of
the inhalation. Any use of the unit for uses other than
for that which it was intended is considered improper
and therefore dangerous; Artsana cannot be held li-
able for damages caused by improper, incorrect and /
or unreasonable use of the unit or in cases where the
unit is used in electrical systems not compliant with
safety regulations.
• A power outage, a sudden malfunction or any other
adverse condition may cause the unit to stop work-
ing; therefore, it is recommended that users equip
themselves with an alternate unit or type of medicine
(agreed upon with a doctor) that can be used in the
event this occurs.
· As soon as the unit has been removed from its pack-
aging, ensure that it is intact and that there is no
visible damage that may have been inflicted during
transport. When in doubt, do not use the unit and
contact your Artsana S.p.A dealer or distributor.
· NEVER DISASSEMBLE THE UNIT. All technical inter-
ventions must be carried out by Artsana-authorised
personnel. For information contact your Artsana
S.p.A dealer or distributor.
• Keep all packaging materials (plastic bags, boxes,
etc.) out of the reach of children as they may be dan-
gerous.
• Before connecting the unit make sure the infor-
mation on the data plate are compatible with your
electricity distribution network. This information is
located on the bottom of the unit.
• In case of incompatibility between the unit's plug
and the electrical socket, use adapters that have been
certified under existing legislation in the individual
countries or have an Artsana SpA authorised techni-
cian replace the plug.
• To prevent overheating and damage to the compres-
sor, switch off the unit for at least 40 minutes after
every 20 minutes of continuous use.
• To ensure correct operation, make sure that the air
filter is dry.
• Do not use the unit in the presence of nitrous oxide,
oxygen or anaesthetic mixtures flammable with air.
• Switch off and disconnect the unit from the mains
after every use and before adding another type of
medicine. Do not excessively fill the phial.
• Keep the unit and the power cable away from hot
surfaces.
• Do not use the unit while taking a shower or a bath
or in any humid environment, near bathtubs, sinks,
faucets etc.
• Never touch the unit with wet or humid hands.
• Never drop or immerse the unit in water or other
liquids. Should this occur, immediately disconnect
the plug, stop use of the unit and consult technically
qualified personnel.
· Should the unit be wet accidentally, immediately
disconnect the plug, carefully dry the unit and if
there is the possibility that the liquid has penetrated
inside the unit, contact your Artsana S.p.A dealer or
distributor.
· Do not block the ventilation openings during use.
• Do not use the unit if you feel tired or drowsy.
