ABOUT THIS USER INFORMATION

This user information is intended for the responsible
vehicle driver/owner. Read the user information carefully
before installing and using the product.
Keep this user information in the vehicle and pass it on

when the owner changes.
When installing and using the product, observe all

the vehicle manufacturer's instructions (see vehicle
manual).
We reserve the right to make changes with regard to de-
sign, equipment and colour. Illustrations are non-binding.

SAFETY

Intended use

The Backrack+ Bike Carrier Swing is designed to be in-
stalled on the Backrack+ base frame and is used exclu-
sively for transporting bicycles.
Bicycles must meet the following requirements:

Structural integrity

Tyre size (24" to 29") and tyre width (<2.5")

Observe the manufacturer's instructions
Any other use is considered improper. The Backrack+ Bike
Carrier Swing is referred to in the following as the rear
carrier system/accessories.
Only install the rear carrier system/accessories in accor-
X
dance with the installation instructions.
Only install the rear carrier system/accessories to vehi-
X
cles with a properly installed Backrack+.
Use rim protectors to prevent damage to the bicycle.
X
Only use original accessories and original spare parts.
X
Check with the respective manufacturer regarding the
suitability of any other accessories.
The driver of the vehicle is responsible for the rear
X
carrier system/accessories and for compliance with the
relevant regulations.
In the event of improper installation, use or use that
deviates from the user information or use that is not in
accordance with the intended purpose, all guarantee and
warranty claims against the manufacturer will be voided.

Foreseeable misuse

The rear carrier system/accessories are not designed for
installation by children or youth.
If conversions and modifications are made to the rear
carrier system/accessories, the type approval is voided.
Installation without Backrack+ is not permitted.
The rear carrier system/accessories are only intended
for transporting bicycles. Other uses are not permitted.
The maximum load of 30 kg per rail must not be ex-
ceeded. The maximum load of 50 kg for the entire rear
carrier system must not be exceeded.
If the door is swung open fully, the load can damage
the shell of the vehicle. Remove bicycles before open-
ing the vehicle doors to avoid damage.
On a slope, be careful when opening/closing the rear
doors with a load.
Driving into car washes with the mounted components
installed is not permitted.
The spokes must not touch the hook.
The support bracket must be brought into the end
positions using the turning handle. Slamming shut can
cause damage.
Driving with the rear carrier system/accessories swung
out and unladen is not permitted.

General safety instructions

When using the rear carrier system/accessories, ensure

that the national laws of the respective country are
complied with.
Ensure that the change in the axle load distribution due
X
to the rear carrier system/accessories does not lead to
the permissible axle loads being exceeded.
Tighten the fastening screws at regular intervals before
X
setting off.
Check that everything is snapped into place correctly
X
each time before setting off:
1. Visual inspection: Check whether the safety pin is
visibly protruding (see diagram 16).
2. Shake test: Check that the swivel arm is securely
locked and does not come loose (see diagram 17).
Before loading the bicycles, check that the support
X
bracket is snapped into place correctly (see diagram 9).
Always fold in an unloaded rear carrier system/accesso-
X
ries before setting off.
Replace damaged parts immediately with original
X
spare parts. Do not use a damaged rear carrier system/
damaged accessories for transporting bicycles.
When using sliding blocks, make sure that the groove
X
channel is not damaged or deformed.
Only use sliding blocks in the intended positions.
