strap, non-conductive pad, etc.) when opening the transmitter housing and when
touching the circuit board (e.g. when changing the battery).
• This product is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
• Do not leave the packaging material carelessly lying around, since it could become
a dangerous plaything for children.
• T he product is only suitable for indoor use; it must be protected from moisture or

b) Batteries/rechargeable batteries
• Batteries/rechargeable batteries must be kept out of the reach of children.
• Do not let batteries/rechargeable batteries lie around openly. There is a risk of
batteries being swallowed by children or pets. Seek immediate medical attention if
a battery is swallowed. Fatal hazard!
• Leaking or damaged batteries/rechargeable batteries in contact with the skin can
cause acid burns; therefore, use suitable safety gloves.
• Check that the polarity is correct when inserting the batteries/rechargeable batte-
ries (pay attention to plus/+ and minus/-).
• Batteries/rechargeable batteries must not be short-circuited, opened or thrown into
fire. There is a danger of explosion!
• Do not recharge single-use, non-rechargeable batteries. There is a danger of ex-
plosion! Charge only rechargeable batteries that are intended for this purpose; use
a suitable battery charger.
• Replace a dead battery/rechargeable battery as soon as possible with a new one,
or remove the spent battery/rechargeable battery. A dead battery/rechargeable

battery may leak and can damage the device!
• If the product is not to be used for a while (e.g., storage), remove the batteries/
rechargeable batteries. If batteries/rechargeable batteries are too old, there is a
risk that they will leak, causing damage to the product. This will void the warranty!
• A lways replace the whole set of batteries/rechargeable batteries; only use batte-
ries/rechargeable batteries of the same type/manufacturer and the same charging
state (do not mix charged batteries with half-charged or flat batteries/rechargeable
batteries).
• Never use batteries together with rechargeable batteries! Use either batteries or
rechargeable batteries.
• For the environmentally friendly disposal of batteries and rechargeable batteries,

Product overview
C1
Door/window contact transmitter
C2
Magnet
C3
Status LED (red)
L ED flashes once long (for approx. 3 seconds) - the door or window has been opened
or closed and the transmitter sends a signal to the gateway
Blue LED flashes quickly - indicates that the battery is empty and needs to be replaced
C4
Notched triangle - indicates the side on which the magnet must later be located
C5
Upper and lower slots - for opening the transmitter housing
C6
Sabotage switch - it is located inside the transmitter and is closed as long as the hous-
ing is closed; when the cover is removed, the transmitter sends a signal to the gateway
Inserting and replacing the battery
No matter whether you use the battery during the first start-up or want to change it
later, the procedure is always the same.
• The first thing you need to do is to open the housing of the transmitter (C1).
To do this, drive it (e.g. with a suitable slotted screwdriver) successively up and down into the
small slot of the housing (C5) and carefully pry it open.
You can then pull off the cover with a little force. It is only held left and right.
• Carefully remove the circuit board from the housing. Make sure that the spring attached to the
sabotage switch (C6) does not fly out and get lost.
• Depending on whether you are using the device for the first time or just want to change the
battery, proceed as follows:
When using the product for the first time and if the battery is packaged and comes complete
with the product, insert the battery (CR 2450 type) between the contact surfaces on the cir-
cuit board, observing the correct polarity (plus/+ and minus/-; clip = plus/+ and circuit board
contact = minus/-).
If the battery is already inserted, it is secured with a plastic strip. Pull out the strip.
If you want to change the battery, first pull the old battery out between the poles and then in-
sert the new battery (CR 2450 type) between the contact surfaces on the circuit board, obser-
ving the correct polarity (plus/+ and minus/-; clip = plus/+ and circuit board contact = minus/-).
Once you have inserted the battery into the circuit board, the LED (C3) flashes
three times. It then lights up permanently, because the sabotage switch (C6) is not
pressed through the housing cover and thus closed.
• Carefully reinsert the circuit board with the soldered side into the housing. The circuit board
must go smoothly into the housing. If this is not the case, turn the housing by 180°. Make
sure again that the spring attached to the sabotage switch (C6) does not fly out and get lost.
• Finally, replace the cover and press it tight. The two pins on the cover must point to the two
crosses on the circuit board.
