Use
The DUO saw (type 1400 HKS circular hand saw with mounted
KSV 200 chain saw attachment) is designed for carpentry
work like mitred cutting and and joining. Even complicated
tenon cutting can be done easily. It can be used in soft
and hard woods. Above all, the DUO saw can be used in
those situations where a normal circular hand saw cannot
achieve the necessary cutting depth.
The DUO chain saw is not designed for cutting down
trees or removing branches!
Safety instructions and accident prevention
Before starting the machine, read the operating
instructions completely, and follow the safety instructions
in this manual as well as the general Safety Instructions
for Electrical Tools in the included booklet.
In addition, observe the following safety instructions
when using the chain saw (DUO saw):
1. The KSV 200 chain saw may only be used together
with our type 1400 HKS circular hand saw. It was
designed exclusively for use with this model of
circular hand saw.
For your own safety, make no modification to to the
device. Modifications or the use of any other drive
machines invalidate any warranty or liability claims!
2. Follow the accident prevention measures of the
appropriate trade or professional associations. Read
the entire operating instructions carefully.
Clothing and equipment:

Notes on use:
Children and minors may not operate the DUO saw
(chain saw). This does not include minors over
16 years of age under the supervision of a skilled
operator for purposes of instruction.
When transporting the machine, always unplug the
machine from the outlet or remove the power cable
with patented Quick-Lock from the drive machine
and put the chain guard on! Even short distances
only after the machine has stopped!
Never turn the machine off by pulling the power
cord. Use the switch on the machine.
The machine should be held securely when
switching it on. Guide and chain must be free and
must not be in contact with the piece to be worked
on.
The machine should be held in both hands when
operating!
When sawing near the ground, make sure that the
chain saw does not come into contact with the
ground or with objects lying on the ground.
Foreign objects such as nails, screws, pieces of
metal, sand, etc. lead to ecessive wear on the bar
and saw chain.
A dull saw chain can cause overheating and damage
the saw.
If the machine is not in use for a period of time, it
should be stored in such a manner that it cannot
endanger anyone. Pull the power cord or remove the
power cord with the patented Quick-Lock and put the
chain guard on.
When checking the chain tension, tightening the
chain, chainging the chain, connecting the chain
saw to the circular saw and when eleiminating
malfunctions, the drive motor must be separated
from the power source! Pull the plug or remove the
power cable from the machine with the patented
Quick-Lock!
The safe operating condition of the machine,
particularly the saw track and saw chain, should be
checked before beginning work.
When operating, be sure you have a safe place to
stand.
Insure that noone stands within the cutting range of
the machine!
Be especially careful when cutting splintering wood.
Wood splinters can be thrown up by the saw chain
and represent an increased danger!
No iron wedges may be used.
Our chain saws, which are not operated with safety
low voltage, may not be used outdoors or in very
damp places.
Pull the pug immediately if the power cable is cut!
Damaged power cables should be replaced
immediately. Observe the notes in the operating
