Maintenance and cleaning
Grill plate
When the Plancha Grill is new, the ferritic stainless steel plate is very shiny. With normal use of
the appliance, stripes and black spots quickly appear. The stripes and spots soon merge into one
another and give the plate a brushed, patinated
appearance that does not continue to change over time. Therefore, it does not affect the
grilling
performance.
To clean the plancha grill, it must be switched off and the mains plug must be pulled out. When the
grill plate is still lukewarm it is easier to clean.
Nevertheless: Caution, risk of burning!
Use a firm spatula to loosen any food residue that is stuck to the grill
plate and scrape it into the fat drip tray.
To soak off the remaining food residue, thoroughly dampen the grill plate
(using a sponge soaked in water or using ice cubes).
Leave for a few minutes to take effect. Use a firm spatula, and if neces-
sary some wire wool, to loosen the soaked food residue and scrape it into
the fat drip tray.
Now clean the grill plate using a damp kitchen sponge. As required, first
use the rough side and then the soft side of the sponge. Afterwards,
apply a little white vinegar onto the grill plate in order to safely remove
any remaining odors and flavors.
Note: After preparing salty foods, the grill plate must be quickly cleaned
(risk of the plate corroding due to the salt).
Do not use any chlorine-based products as these can also cause
corrosion.
