Drying in case of building defects or water damage
In the case of building defects and water damage, the cause should first be eliminated. The
rooms can then be dried with condensation dryers such as the Demecto 30 eco. In this case,
the dehumidifier is operated continuously. The ambient temperature should be at least 20°C
(not more than 27°C).
Caution: Only heat the room with water-bearing heating units, such as underfloor heating and
permanently installed radiators.
If this is not possible, the room can be preheated with another electrical heater. However, the
dehumidifier must not be in this room.
The safety and operating instructions in this manual must be followed under all circumstances.
Please note that depending on the construction defect, insulation drying may also be neces-
sary.

Recommended humidities for rooms
Basically, this depends on the ambient temperature. The higher the temperature of the room,
the lower the relative humidity should be set, otherwise mould growth in the room is
promoted. The comfortable humidity ranges from 35% to 65% relative humidity, depending on
the ambient temperature. The following diagram gives an indication of which humidity is
optimal at which ambient temperature.
The diagram assumes that temperatures >=20°C are living rooms and temperatures <=20°C
are basement rooms.
